Pianeta.Green Meter — measuring a website's CO₂
A proprietary tool for measuring a website's emissions — page weight, CO₂e per visit, A+/F grade — live on pianeta.green.
What GreenMeter is
GreenMeter is the tool Pianeta uses to measure the CO₂ footprint of websites — our own and our clients’.
We use it as a carbon budget instrument inside the design and development pipeline: every project has a threshold in grams of CO₂ per visit, and it meets it the same way it meets an accessibility or performance spec.
What it measures
- Page weight transferred (HTML, CSS, JS, images, fonts) — gzip-aware
- CO₂e per visit following the Sustainable Web Design Model
- Grade from A+ to F benchmarked against the Web Almanac
- Per-page breakdown of the measured site
Where it lives
pianeta.green — free, no signup, in-browser measurement.
How it connects to Atlas
GreenMeter is one of the indicators feeding into the Atlas framework on the E (Environment) dimension — “digital footprint” column.
