Francesca Fossati

Francesca Fossati is Senior Designer and UI/UX Lead at Pianeta.Studio, an Italian Benefit Corporation operating at the intersection of sustainable design, technology, and social impact. She began working with Max Mauro before the studio’s formal incorporation, bringing from the outset a practice grounded in design systems, interface design, and user experience. She holds a first-level specialisation diploma with honours in Fine Arts and Graphic Design from IED Istituto Europeo di Design (Web Design UX-UI, Editorial Design, Brand Identity, and Motion), and has combined professional practice with teaching at IED’s campuses in Turin and Milan.

At Pianeta.Studio, she works with full operational autonomy on her scope of each project, in close coordination with Max and the internal team. Her primary focus is design systems and interface design for clients working in sustainability: she led the Susdef project — developed on Pianeta’s proprietary technology and a new CMS infrastructure — and over the years has contributed to websites, storytelling landings, interactive reports, and brand identity work for organisations such as Aries, k.LAB, BC3, and WeWorld, all active on environmental and social themes. She has also worked with innovative startups in the cultural and social sector. The common thread is design system architecture: tools that stay consistent across multiple brands and are built to last without being rewritten.
